SUCCESS: Ubuntu Touch dual boot works again on Volla OS 16 (Boot Manager)

Hello everyone,

I would like to share a successful installation that may help other Volla users.

**Device:** Volla Phone X23 (Vidofnir)
**Operating System:** Volla OS 16
**Boot Manager:** Latest version available

### Installation

I installed the latest Boot Manager and created a **90 GiB** partition for Ubuntu Touch, leaving about **26 GiB** free.

The installer automatically downloaded:

* boot
* vendor_boot
* logo
* Ubuntu Touch system image
* installation script

The installation completed successfully with the message **"Successful!"**.

After rebooting:

* The **Select OS** menu appeared.
* Both **Volla OS** and **Ubuntu Touch** were available.
* Ubuntu Touch booted successfully.

I have attached screenshots showing:

1. Partition creation
2. Automatic download
3. Successful installation
4. Boot Manager status
5. Select OS menu
6. Ubuntu Touch boot screen

I hope this helps other users who are trying to install Ubuntu Touch on Volla OS 16.

a few days ago a new UT Version for Volla Boot Manager for the Volla22 was released.
Now the Dual Boot also works for the V22 on VollaOS 16

Hello,
I have a Volla Phone 22 running VollaOS 16, and I'm experiencing a similar problem.
I previously had VollaOS 13 with Ubuntu Touch installed on a microSD card. I updated VollaOS sequentially to versions 14, 15 and 16, with the SD card removed during the updates.
Since then, Ubuntu Touch no longer boots. Volla Boot Manager detects the SD card and the Ubuntu Touch entry, but selecting Ubuntu Touch freezes the device at the boot menu.
My Boot Manager version is 0.3.0-m0. When I select the Ubuntu Touch entry and choose “Update”, it reports that no updates are available.
You mentioned that a new Ubuntu Touch version for the Volla Phone 22 was released in August.
Could you please explain how to install that version? Did you update an existing Ubuntu Touch installation, or did you have to reinstall it?
I would prefer to preserve my existing installation and data if possible.
