Yes. I'm in Perth. Unfortunately my answer probably isn't helpful as I can't remember many details. It's a Volla 22. Once it arrived I took it to Japan and it worked well. Back in Perth it was terrible, spent more time with no connection than connected. Then I lent it to someone else with a different SIM for some weeks and it worked for them, and when I got it back it worked for me too and has done so ever since. It's with Woolworths (Telstra network).
Maybe more towers of the right band came on-line in the meantime, in the particular locations I was using it. Or more likely I had incorrect settings.
I have just bought an X23, I wonder if that will work straight out of the box.
