Re: ubuntu touch vs droidian

Hi,

I originally had Ubuntu Touch on my Volla Phone 22 when I got my phone early 2024. It was okay. At the time, it was a little "sluggish" as if it were in debug mode (when compared to the very smooth Google Pixel 3a on Ubuntu Touch). The Volla Phone 22 + Ubuntu Touch was useable and I tried it for a week as my daily phone. However, ultimately I decided to install VollaOS (which I have been using as my daily since the switch). I am not familiar with the changes in performance to Ubuntu Touch on VP22 since then, and have not tried it again since.

Edit: Waydroid was good at the time. Can't beat the security of having Waydroid separately installed! Pretty good privacy experience. Mostly it was stable. One of things I didn't like with UT on VP22 was the top bar - it was hard to navigate with the notch in the way on the VP22 screen.

TLDR: Ubuntu Touch on Volla Phone 22 is useable for daily use but a little sluggish (when I last used it in early 2024).

Hope this helps.
