I’m running into an issue with the ChatGPT mobile app on my Volla X23. The device uses a degooglified ROM with microG instead of full Google Play Services.
Problem
When I install the ChatGPT app via Aurora Store, the app fails to start.
The error message I see is something like:
Preauth error
I assume this is related to authentication libraries missing in microG.
What I tried
Cleared app cache/data → no change.
Reinstalled the app via Aurora Store → same error.
Looked on F-Droid → there’s no official ChatGPT app there.
I am using microG (no Google Play Services installed).
My question
Has anyone else managed to get the ChatGPT app running on Volla (with microG)?
Is there a workaround (e.g., patched Play Services, alternative APK source, or a PWA install)?
Or is the only option to use ChatGPT via the web interface in the browser?
Would love to hear from others in the community if they’ve found a solution.
