So, I bought a Volla tablet with E os on it. I installed Ubuntu touch on it on fedora 44 with Ubports installer to try it out, but wanted to install Volla OS after that. The installation did complete according to the installer but now I only get a black screen on the tablet. I do hear the sound of the screen turning off though. When I long press the power button, the tablet seems to reboot, but doesn't show the boot logo off Volla. What should I do next?
The End User License Agreement states:
The software is provided to the user exclusively for use on a Volla brand smartphone and for private and personal professional purposes on a permanent basis. […] The use on a smartphone of another brand than Volla is explicitly not granted.
This appears in both the German and English versions of the EULA on volla.online.
VollaOS is based on AOSP (Apache 2.0). Source code is published on GitHub under HelloVolla. Some components use a custom “Volla License.”
Official ready-made images are only provided for Volla devices. Volla does not offer downloads for other smartphones.
VollaOS is also tightly tied to Volla’s own hardware (signed software, locked bootloader, hardware-bound encryption). On another device it often would not run cleanly, and there would be no official updates or support.
I have no idea that VollaOS works on murena tablet.
